MT5 desktop: How do I use the Economic Calendar?

Find releases, filter events, compare reported values and display economic events on currency-pair charts.

Review past and upcoming economic releases in MT5 desktop, narrow the list and open event details.

Open and filter the Calendar

  1. Open Toolbox (Ctrl+T on Windows), then select Calendar. On Mac, use the menus provided by your installed version.

  2. The initial view includes past and upcoming events for the current week. Right-click the list to select another available week or month.

  3. Use that menu to filter by priority, currency or country. Check the filters before treating a missing event as unavailable.

  4. Double-click an event name to read its description and inspect historical values as a graph or table.

Read the event fields

Field

Show events on a chart

Choose Add All Events in the Calendar context menu to show events on relevant currency-pair charts.

Interpret the figures carefully

  • Red means Actual is below Forecast; blue means it is above. These colours compare figures; they do not guarantee whether a currency will rise or fall.

  • Check the time basis before comparing calendars or setting an alert. Do not assume every calendar uses your device clock or trading-server time.

Calendar entries and priority ratings do not replace FXTRADING.com’s temporary-leverage notices or establish which products or accounts are affected. Review the applicable notice and your remaining exposure before acting.
