Why might an affiliate promotion link not track a referral?

A referral may not appear in the Partner Portal if the registration was not completed through the promotion link or if the link information could not be retained during the registration journey.

Common reasons

Tracking can be affected when the prospective customer:

  • opens the FXTRADING.com website directly instead of using the promotion link;

  • downloads an app and registers there after opening the link on the web;

  • removes or changes part of the promotion link;

  • does not enter the partner code when the registration form asks for it;

  • changes browser or device before completing registration;

  • uses private browsing or blocks the cookies required for the registration journey; or

  • completes registration after the original session is no longer available.

These are common examples and do not confirm the reason for a specific referral.

How can I reduce tracking problems?

Ask the prospective customer to:

  1. open the original promotion link;

  2. complete registration in the same browser and on the same device where possible;

  3. avoid editing the link;

  4. confirm that the partner code is shown when the registration form provides that field; and

  5. finish registration without switching between the website and app.

Do not ask a customer to send identity documents, passwords or one-time codes to prove a referral.

What should I check in the Partner Portal?

Review the referral, client and registration records shown for the relevant period. Allow time for a completed registration to appear.
