Fund Transfer Limits for Accounts with Open Positions

Updated yesterday

When your trading account has open positions, the system restricts the maximum amount you can transfer during withdrawals or internal transfers. This protective measure ensures your account maintains adequate margin levels and reduces the risk of forced liquidation.

According to current settings, you may transfer up to 80% of your available free margin (excluding Trading Credits) when positions are open.

Calculation Rules

The system determines your maximum transferable amount based on your position status:

When you have no open positions:

  • Maximum transferable amount = Free margin - Trading Credits

When you have open positions:

  • Maximum transferable amount = (Free margin - Trading Credits) × 80%

Examples

Example 1: Account with No Open Positions

  • Account free margin: 10,000 AUD

  • Trading Credits: 1,000 AUD

  • Maximum transferable amount: 10,000 - 1,000 = 9,000 AUD

Example 2: Account with Open Positions

  • Account free margin: 10,000 AUD

  • Trading Credits: 1,000 AUD

  • Own available free margin: 10,000 - 1,000 = 9,000 AUD

  • Maximum transferable amount: 9,000 × 80% = 7,200 AUD

Important Notes

  • This restriction applies to all withdrawal requests and internal transfer operations

  • The purpose is to ensure your trading account maintains sufficient margin levels and avoid forced liquidation risks caused by excessive fund transfers
