Many traders encounter situations where not all available trading instruments are visible in their MetaTrader platform. This is a common issue that can be easily resolved with a few simple steps.
Viewing All Instruments in MT4
Access the Market Watch window:
If the Market Watch window is not visible, press Ctrl+M or go to View > Market Watch
The Market Watch displays all currently visible instruments
Show all available instruments:
Right-click anywhere in the Market Watch window
Select "Show All" from the context menu
All available trading instruments will now be displayed
Organize your instruments:
To hide instruments you don't need, right-click in the Market Watch and select "Hide All"
Then right-click again and select "Symbols" to open the complete list
Check only the instruments you want to display
Create custom watchlists:
Right-click in the Market Watch window and select "Sets"
You can save your current selection as a set or load previously saved sets
Viewing All Instruments in MT5
Access the Market Watch window:
Press Ctrl+M or click on the "Market Watch" icon in the toolbar
By default, this shows only popular instruments
Display all available instruments:
Right-click in the Market Watch window
Select "Show All" from the context menu
Alternatively, click on the "+" symbol at the bottom of the Market Watch window
Use the symbols window for better organization:
Right-click in the Market Watch and select "Symbols"
In the window that appears, you can browse all available instruments by category
Check the boxes next to instruments you want to add to your Market Watch
Search for specific instruments:
In MT5, you can use the search function at the bottom of the Market Watch window
Type the name or part of the name of the instrument you're looking for
Additional Tips
Update your platform: Ensure your MT4 or MT5 platform is updated to the latest version, as older versions might not display all currently available instruments
Check your account type: Some instruments may only be available for specific account types
Refresh Market Watch: Sometimes simply refreshing the Market Watch (right-click > Refresh) can resolve display issues
