Social Trading ROI measures trading net profit or loss against the highest applicable baseline balance. Deposits, withdrawals and transfers affect the baseline, but they are not treated as trading profit or loss.
Scope: This calculation applies only to FXTRADING.com Social Trading Signal Provider performance. Funds Management uses different logic and is not covered here.
Total ROI
The total calculation runs from the start of the trading signal to the latest available calculation point.
Initial equity = the account equity when the trading signal starts. It is 0 for a new signal that starts with a zero balance; an existing signal uses its actual starting equity.
Initial credit = the account credit when the trading signal starts. It is 0 when no credit exists.
Cumulative net deposit = cumulative deposits + cumulative transfers in − |cumulative withdrawals| − |cumulative transfers out|
Cumulative net deposit excludes trading profit or loss, fees, bonuses and other balance adjustments.
Total profit or loss = (current equity − current credit) − (initial equity − initial credit) − cumulative net deposit
Current baseline balance = (initial equity − initial credit) + cumulative net deposit
Maximum baseline balance = MAX(current baseline balance at every calculation point from the signal start to now)
The maximum baseline balance is the highest own-funds baseline recorded during the signal. It can increase, but it does not decrease.
Total ROI = total profit or loss ÷ maximum baseline balance × 100%
Cumulative ROI as of a specified date
For a date D, the calculation uses the end-of-day equity and credit and all qualifying cash flows from the signal start through the end of D.
Cumulative net deposit (D) = deposits through D + transfers in through D − |withdrawals through D| − |transfers out through D|
Cumulative profit or loss (D) = (end-of-day equity D − end-of-day credit D) − (initial equity − initial credit) − cumulative net deposit (D)
Baseline balance (D) = (initial equity − initial credit) + cumulative net deposit (D)
Maximum baseline balance (D) = MAX(baseline balance at every calculation point from the signal start through the end of D)
Cumulative ROI (D) = cumulative profit or loss (D) ÷ maximum baseline balance (D) × 100%
Monthly ROI
The monthly calculation uses the previous month's last calculation point as the opening values for the current month.
Opening equity = the account equity at the previous month's last calculation point
Opening credit = the account credit at the previous month's last calculation point
Monthly net deposit = monthly deposits + monthly transfers in − |monthly withdrawals| − |monthly transfers out|
Monthly profit or loss = (month-end equity − month-end credit) − (opening equity − opening credit) − monthly net deposit
Monthly baseline balance at time t = (opening equity − opening credit) + monthly cumulative net deposit through time t
Monthly maximum baseline balance = MAX(monthly baseline balance at every calculation point in the month)
The monthly maximum can only increase during that month and is recalculated when a new month begins.
Monthly ROI = monthly profit or loss ÷ monthly maximum baseline balance × 100%
No ROI value: When the applicable maximum baseline balance is less than or equal to 0, ROI is not calculated and the platform displays "--".
How to interpret the figures
A deposit or transfer in is not trading profit, but it can increase the baseline used in the ROI denominator.
A withdrawal or transfer out reduces the current baseline, but it does not reduce a previously recorded maximum baseline.
Strategy Equity can change because of trading results, cash movements and credit. It is not the same as ROI.
Cumulative ROI points are calculated from the signal start through each specified date; monthly ROI uses a new monthly baseline.
The Signal Provider's ROI describes the signal's performance record. An Investor's personal result can differ because of subscription timing, copied trades, cash flows, fees and other account-specific factors.
