Why Is There a Limit on Withdrawals and Transfers with Open Positions?

Updated today

When you have active trades on your account, FXTRADING.com limits withdrawals and transfers to 80% of your available free margin. This policy protects your trading positions from unexpected market movements that might occur during transaction processing.

How It Works

Maximum Amount: With open positions, you can withdraw or transfer up to 80% of your current free margin.

Protection Buffer: The remaining 20% acts as a safety cushion against sudden price movements during processing time.

Real-Time Conditions: Your free margin fluctuates constantly due to market volatility, even between submitting and confirming your request.

Example

Consider an account with:

  • Balance: $10,000

  • Open positions using $3,000 margin

  • Free margin: $7,000

Maximum withdrawal or transfer: $5,600 (80% of $7,000), leaving a $1,400 buffer to safeguard your positions.

Important Information

  • This limitation applies to accounts with open positions for both withdrawals and internal transfers

  • Accounts without open positions can withdraw or transfer up to 100% of the balance

  • The Client Portal automatically calculates your maximum withdrawal/transfer amount
