POSB/DBS does not have one flat fee for every bank transfer. First identify whether you are sending money from the bank or receiving money into it. The relevant banking service and transaction records determine which charges apply.
Which direction is the money moving?
If you send money from POSB/DBS to fund your trading account, check whether the payment is a local transfer, an overseas transfer or an eligible DBS Remit transfer. Use the current deposit instructions; do not assume every deposit uses an overseas wire.
If you receive a withdrawal in POSB/DBS, check the incoming-payment conditions and the actual bank credit. An outgoing transfer tariff cannot by itself explain a deduction from that withdrawal.
How can an outgoing overseas-transfer fee change?
For online overseas telegraphic transfers without currency conversion, the non-exempt handling commission in POSB’s revised table varies with the SGD transfer amount:
SGD transfer amount | Handling commission (SGD) |
5,000 or less | 10 |
Over 5,000, up to 25,000 | 20 |
Over 25,000, up to 60,000 | 35 |
Over 60,000, up to 120,000 | 100 |
Over 120,000 | 120 |
This is a handling commission, not a total fee. That revised table waives this commission for transfers with currency conversion and eligible transfers to specified DBS accounts in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia and Taiwan. Non-DBS destinations can also incur a S$20 cable charge and applicable agent-bank charges. DBS Remit and branch transfers have separate conditions.
Does receiving a withdrawal always cost S$10?
No. POSB lists a S$10 incoming handling fee for an SGD or foreign-currency current account, waived for Treasures customers; a foreign-currency fixed deposit is free. This account-specific rule is separate from the outgoing amount bands. It is not proof of the total charged on your withdrawal.
What if the credited amount or currency is different?
Keep the recorded withdrawal fee, intermediary charges, receiving-bank charges and currency conversion separate. POSB says foreign currency received into a non-multicurrency account is converted to SGD. The actual conversion, rate and deductions still need transaction evidence. A matching fee amount, a previous fee-free payment or an internal “completed” status does not establish what the bank credited.
How can I ask for a review?
Use your existing support conversation and identify the deposit or withdrawal you want checked, together with the fee, conversion, sender or refund question. We will first use the information already provided.
If more evidence is needed, provide only the relevant bank-credit or fee entry through the approved secure support channel and conceal unrelated information. Account-specific bank fees and exemptions may need confirmation from the bank.
Bank conditions checked on 26 October 2026. Consult the current POSB fee schedule and receiving-currency information, and the bank’s transaction quotation or advice for the applicable charge.
A tariff explains general conditions, not who charged a particular transaction. A review does not guarantee a refund, fee waiver, specified sending bank or a fee-free future route.
