Why Are the New Order Button and Other Tools Greyed Out in My Trading Platform?

If you've noticed that the "New Order" button and other trading tools appear greyed out and inaccessible in your trading platform, don't worry. This is usually caused by a simple login issue that can be easily resolved.

The Most Common Cause: Investor Password Login

The most frequent reason for greyed-out trading tools is that you've logged in using your investor password (also known as "read-only password") instead of your main trading password.

The investor password is specifically designed to:

  • Allow account monitoring only

  • Prevent any trading actions

  • Provide read-only access to account information

  • Be shared with third parties who need to view but not trade on your account

How to Fix the Issue

To restore full functionality to your trading platform:

  1. Close your current platform session

  2. Restart the platform

  3. When prompted for login credentials, ensure you're using your master password (trading password)

  4. This password was provided in your welcome email when you first opened your account
