MT4 and MT5 desktop: save a chart as a local image

Choose the image area, keep online publishing off and check the saved file.

MT4 and MT5 desktop can save a chart image on your computer. Saving a local file is separate from publishing it online.

Save the intended chart

  1. Activate the chart and check its full symbol, timeframe and displayed period.

  2. Right-click the chart and choose Save As Picture.

  3. Choose one of the three image areas in the table below. For a custom size, enter the dimensions in pixels.

  4. Clear Post image online in MQL5 Charts service and get the link. Leave it off to save locally.

  5. Click OK, choose the destination and filename in the file dialog, then click Save.

  6. Open the saved file. Check the intended chart and area before sharing it.

If the result is not what you expected

If you saved the wrong chart, activate the intended one and repeat the export with a new filename. If the file cannot be found, check the destination selected in the file dialog. A chart image records what was displayed; it is not a full transaction report or proof of an execution price.

Before sharing, remove account numbers and other private details, especially from a full-workspace image. Online publishing may disclose chart or server information even without signing in to a community account. This guide covers local desktop export; menu wording can vary with the installed language.
