MT4 for Android: Smartphones and Tablets

Compare MT4 functionality on Android smartphones and tablets, and learn how Tablet Mode adapts the layout for a larger workspace and multiple charts.

MetaTrader 4 (MT4) for Android is intended for compatible smartphones and tablets. Availability, layout, and performance depend on the app build, Android version, device, screen, installation source, and permissions. A consistent or identical experience on every Android device is therefore not guaranteed.

Key Features Across Devices:

  • Supported mobile trading and account functions are broadly shared across phones and tablets, but controls, presentation, and available features can vary by app build, device, operating system, broker server, account, and product.

  • Trade and account data loaded from the same broker server can be visible on devices signed in to the same account. App preferences, charts or templates, indicator layouts, downloaded data, saved credentials, and notification settings may remain local and are not guaranteed to synchronize.

  • The Android app provides mobile charts and a set of built-in indicators. Their number, layout, objects, and features depend on the current build and can differ from desktop, iOS, or another device. Check what the current app shows before relying on a function.

Tablet-Specific Optimizations:

  • Tablet Mode option: If your current MT4 build shows this option in Settings, you can enable or disable it there. The option may be absent or located elsewhere in another build or device.

  • Larger-screen layout: When Tablet Mode is available and enabled, the app may rearrange interface elements to use the additional space.

  • Multiple-chart view: Screen space or layout may allow more information or charts to be visible, depending on the app build and device.

  • Expanded workspace: A larger screen may reduce scrolling, although information density still depends on the device, orientation, and display settings.

To switch between regular and tablet modes:

  1. Open MT4 on your Android device

  2. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines)

  3. Select "Settings"

  4. Find and toggle the "Tablet Mode" option

Tablet Mode or a larger screen may provide a more spacious layout, but it does not guarantee identical functionality, chart rendering, performance, connectivity, or execution across devices. Before a live trade, verify the account, server, symbol, order details, and current quote, then review the execution confirmation.
