Address Verification Exceptions

Updated over a month ago

In certain Asian countries, if your identification document (PoI) clearly displays your current address, additional proof of address (PoA) may not be required. This applies to ID cards from China, Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, Philippines, and Japan.

However, there are exceptions where additional address verification may be requested. Here are some examples:

Location Discrepancy Examples:

  • If you're physically in Malaysia using a Malaysian ID card, but accessing our platform through a VPN

  • When your device settings show a different location than your ID card's issuing country

  • If you're traveling within your country but far from your registered address

  • When using public or shared networks that may mask your actual location

Cross-Border Access Examples:

  • A Japanese client currently in Thailand using a Japanese ID card

  • A Chinese resident temporarily working in Singapore using their Chinese ID

  • A Korean citizen studying abroad in the Philippines

  • Any situation where you're accessing our platform from a country different from your ID card's issuing country

These are just examples. Our verification system may request additional address proof in various other situations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
