Why is the amount available for transfer or withdrawal lower than expected?

Check the account, margin, transaction, profile-level and currency factors that can reduce the transfer or withdrawal amount displayed in the Client Portal.

The amount available for transfer or withdrawal can be lower than the balance shown in a trading account. Use the amount displayed in the current Client Portal flow rather than calculating it from balance or free margin alone.

How is the withdrawal amount calculated across accounts?

For withdrawals, an MT account contributes equity minus trading credit, not balance alone. Equity reflects floating profit or loss; trading credit itself cannot be withdrawn. In examples containing only Investment Wallet, Partner Wallet and MT accounts, the combined calculation is:

Investment Wallet balance + Partner Wallet balance + the sum of each MT account’s (equity − trading credit).

Include negative values. The request must not make this combined amount negative and must also meet the selected source account’s available amount. Margin, pending transactions and other applicable controls may reduce the final amount further. A combined ceiling is not an amount available from any individual account. These examples do not define currency conversion or the treatment of other asset types.

Example (USD)

Calculation

Meaning

Both wallets 0; MT equity A 800, B −400; credit 0 in both accounts

800 − 400 = 400

A request for 500 fails: it would leave −100. A request for 400 meets only this amount test; other conditions still apply.

Investment Wallet 500, Partner Wallet 0; A equity 300/credit 200; B equity 50/credit 200

500 + (300 − 200) + (50 − 200) = 450

Include B’s −150. The combined ceiling is 450, not 600; it does not allow 450 from any single account.

MT balance 1000, credit 200, equity 200

200 − 200 = 0

This MT account has no amount available on this calculation; its balance of 1000 does not override that result.

If the request exceeds the amount currently available for withdrawal, check the selected account and the current Client Portal message, then lower the amount while meeting the other displayed conditions. If the available amount is zero, no positive amount can currently be submitted. Recheck before confirming because market and account conditions can change. Meeting an amount limit does not guarantee approval, release or receipt.

What can affect the available amount?

The displayed amount can take account of:

  • open positions and the margin needed to support them;

  • changing equity or free margin;

  • trading credits or other non-withdrawable amounts;

  • pending withdrawals, transfers or other transactions;

  • a negative balance or unresolved amount in an eligible account or wallet connected with the same profile;

  • currency conversion; and

  • another account, security or transaction restriction shown in the Client Portal.

The available amount can change while market prices or account conditions change.

Can another trading account affect the amount?

Yes. FXTRADING.com can assess available funds at profile level rather than looking only at the balance of the selected account.

For example, if one eligible account has a negative balance while another account or wallet has a positive balance, the full positive balance may not be available for withdrawal. Negative balance clearing eligibility combines positive and negative balances across the profile, and an approved clearing resets all eligible balances in scope to zero.

Use the amount and message displayed for the request. Clearing is not automatic and requires no open positions or pending orders, fully settled activity with no funds in transit, and combined eligible balance below zero. Do not deposit or move funds between accounts solely to try to bypass the restriction or clearing process.

Can a profile-level balance review affect a withdrawal?

Yes. A submitted withdrawal may remain under review while FXTRADING.com checks balances across eligible accounts and wallets in the same profile, unsettled activity, margin, or another account condition. This is a standard control based on profile and account conditions, not a measure directed at selected customers.

Negative balance clearing is not a prerequisite for every withdrawal, and completing it does not guarantee that a withdrawal will be approved. If no action is required from you, the request continues through normal processing. If information or action is required, FXTRADING.com will notify you through an action message in the Client Portal or another official FXTRADING.com channel. Complete only the stated action; the request may remain pending until it is completed. If you do not complete the required action, the withdrawal may be rejected.

Do not deposit funds solely because one account shows a negative balance. If an official withdrawal action mentions adding funds, depositing or topping up, obtain secure manual review by Customer Support before taking funding action. Do not rely on a chatbot to confirm a funding amount, currency or payment method. After all positions are closed, a negative combined balance at profile level is assessed separately under the negative balance clearing policy.

Do open positions prevent every transfer or withdrawal?

Not necessarily. Open positions can reduce the available amount because removing funds can affect margin. Closing a position is a trading decision and is not a universal requirement.

FXTRADING.com cannot tell you which position to close or recommend a specific amount to trade or deposit.

What if the positions are closed but the 80% limit remains?

If MT4 or MT5 shows no open positions but the Client Portal still limits the available withdrawal amount to 80% of Free Margin after one refresh and sign-in again, the closed-position state may not have synchronized to the Client Portal record. This is not a funding-history review, and you should not reduce the amount merely to bypass the incorrect position-state limit.

After selecting Withdrawal, request one position-data synchronization review. Do not submit duplicate withdrawals. A correction removes only this blocker and does not guarantee another eligibility condition, amount or completion time.

What should I do?

  1. Check the source account, available amount and action message in the Client Portal.

  2. Review open positions and pending transactions.

  3. Check whether any eligible account or wallet under the same profile has a negative balance or unresolved adjustment.

  4. Enter an amount no greater than the amount currently displayed as available.

  5. Review the resulting balance and margin information before confirming.
