How does FXTRADING.com negative balance clearing work?

Learn how negative balance clearing is assessed across your FXTRADING.com profile under the policy effective from 15 July 2026.

Effective from 15 July 2026, a negative balance clearing request is assessed across your FXTRADING.com profile rather than one account in isolation.

What is negative balance clearing?

Negative balance clearing is a risk-protection process that allows an eligible account holder to apply to reset eligible account and wallet balances to zero when the combined net equity across the profile is negative.

It is not an account-by-account adjustment. A negative balance in one account does not by itself establish eligibility.

When can I apply?

All of the following conditions must be met:

  • There are no open positions in any Live Account, Funds Management account, Social Trading account or wallet.

  • There are no open or pending orders.

  • All account activity is fully settled, with no funds in transit.

  • The combined net equity across all of your eligible accounts and wallets is below zero.

How is eligibility calculated?

Eligibility is calculated for the account holder as a whole. Positive and negative balances across eligible accounts and wallets are combined. You cannot request clearing for only one account.

If the combined net equity is zero or positive, the profile is not eligible even when an individual account has a negative balance.

Which balances are included?

The calculation and approved clearing can include balances in:

  • Live Accounts;

  • Funds Management accounts;

  • Social Trading accounts;

  • Investment Wallets; and

  • Partner Wallets.

What happens after approval?

All eligible positive and negative balances covered by the request are reset to zero. This means a positive balance in one eligible account is also cleared as part of the profile-wide adjustment.

Examples

  • Account A: -USD 100; Account B: +USD 20. Combined net equity is -USD 80, so the profile may be eligible. After approval, both eligible balances are reset to zero.

  • Account A: -USD 100; Account B or wallet: +USD 300. Combined net equity is +USD 200, so the profile is not eligible.

  • Account A: -USD 100; Account B: -USD 50; Account C: +USD 20. Combined net equity is -USD 130, so the profile may be eligible. After approval, all eligible balances are reset to zero.

What is excluded?

Assets held as an Investor in a fund, and other amounts in a Fund Manager's managed account that are not the applicant's own funds, are not currently included in the clearing scope.

Important

Negative balance clearing is not automatic and is subject to an eligibility and account-status review. Do not open new positions, place new orders or initiate fund movements while a request is being assessed.
