How do I check which MT4 and MT5 features apply to my account?

Confirm available MT4 or MT5 features and use the exact error, account, server, symbol specification, market session, volume, stops, and margin checks when an order is rejected.

Available features and trading conditions can depend on MT4 or MT5, account type, assigned server, complete instrument, FXTRADING.com entity and current server controls. A control visible in the platform is not a guarantee that every account can use it.

Confirm the account and instrument

  1. Open the relevant trading account in the Client Portal.

  2. Confirm MT4 or MT5, the account number, assigned server, activation status and intended password type.

  3. Connect to the matching platform and confirm the current account/server.

  4. Use the complete visible symbol, including any suffix.

  5. Open the current Specification and check trade mode, trading hours, volume limits and step, stops level, margin, execution type and available order types.

Features you may see

  • market, limit and stop orders;

  • pending-order expiration controls;

  • Stop Loss, Take Profit and trailing stop;

  • partial close, hedging or netting behavior where supported;

  • Expert Advisors and other desktop tools;

  • alerts, messages, news, history and reports.

MT4 and MT5 differ, and server/account settings can limit a feature. Desktop, WebTrader and mobile interfaces are not identical.

If an order is rejected

Read and record the exact platform message before trying again. Do not send repeated orders while the cause, selected account, symbol or volume is uncertain.

Trade disabled or read-only

  • Confirm that the trading/master password was used, not the investor/read-only password.

  • Check the account activation and current status in the Client Portal.

  • Open the complete symbol's Specification and check its current trade mode.

  • Do not assume that every Trade disabled message has the same cause.

Market closed or prices unavailable

  • Check that the platform is connected and the complete symbol is visible.

  • Check the current trading session in Specification; holidays, maintenance and session breaks can change availability.

  • Do not place an order based on a stale or absent quote.

Invalid volume or insufficient funds

  • Check the minimum volume, maximum volume and volume step for the complete symbol.

  • Check current free margin and the account's leverage/margin conditions.

  • Do not reduce or split an order only to bypass an account or server control.

Invalid stops

  • Check the current stops level and price increment in Specification.

  • Check whether Stop Loss, Take Profit or pending-order prices are on the valid side of the current Bid/Ask price.

  • Prices can move while the order window is open; valid input does not guarantee execution.

No connection, Invalid Account or server not found

Confirm MT4 versus MT5, account number, password type and exact assigned server. Then check the trusted network, restart/update the platform and avoid repeated password attempts.

If account-specific review is required

Use Client Portal → Service Hub → Create Ticket → FXTRADING.com Platforms → Available Infrastructure → MetaTrader platforms. Provide the account number, MT4 or MT5, server, complete symbol, intended action, exact error and timestamp. Include a focused screenshot or relevant Journal entry with unrelated information hidden. Never send a password or verification code.

If an open position or pending order creates immediate exposure, use the active-trading support route. Support can investigate access or platform behavior but cannot choose, place, modify or close a trade for the customer.
