Resolving MT4/MT5 Connection and Login Issues

Updated over a week ago

If you're experiencing "No Connection" errors, "Invalid Account" messages, or an empty server list when logging into your trading account on PC, follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Ensure You're Using the Official Client

Different brokers have different server configurations. Using unofficial or third-party clients may prevent you from finding our servers.

Download Source: Always log into your Client Portal to download the latest MT4/MT5 installation package.

Important Note: Avoid using installation files from third-party sources to ensure the server list updates automatically.

2. Correct Login Procedure

When logging into an existing account on PC, strictly follow this sequence to ensure successful connection:

Enter Account Information: First, input your account number in the login window.

Enter Password: Input the trading password for that account.

Select Server: Choose from the server dropdown menu:

  • Live Account: Select FXTRADING.com-Live

  • Demo Account: Select FXTRADING.com-Demo

3. Common Issue Troubleshooting

Can't Find the Server?

If you don't see the server names mentioned above in the dropdown menu:

  • Try manually typing "FXTRADING" in the server field to search.

  • If the search yields no results, this is usually because your client version is outdated and cannot sync the latest server information. We recommend uninstalling the old program, then downloading and installing the latest version from your Client Portal, which forces an update of the server connection addresses.

Still Showing "No Connection"?

If you've confirmed you're using the official latest version and selected the correct server, but the bottom right corner still shows a red "No Connection" indicator:

Network Environment Check: Verify that your network connection is functioning properly. Some corporate networks or firewalls may block the trading software's communication ports.

Switch Networks: Try connecting via a mobile hotspot to rule out local ISP DNS resolution issues.

Helpful Tip: The MT4/MT5 App typically has smoother connections because it requires server selection before account entry. If you experience persistent connection issues on PC, compare with the mobile login experience. If mobile works normally but PC doesn't, prioritize the "reinstallation" steps mentioned above.
