Expert Advisors (EAs) are automated trading programs that can execute trades based on predefined algorithms. However, they cannot be run on the MT4/MT5 WebTrader version.
Where can I download the required app?
Sign in to the Client Portal. In the left navigation menu, select Service Hub, then open Download Center. Choose the required MT4, MT5 or FXTRADING.com app version for your device and follow the installation instructions shown.
To use Expert Advisors with your FXTRADING.com account, you have two options:
Download the MT4/MT5 Desktop Application: The full desktop versions support all EA functionality and allow for complete customization of your automated trading strategies.
Use our VPS Service: FXTRADING.com offers a Virtual Private Server (VPS) service that provides a stable environment for your EAs to run 24/7, even when your personal computer is turned off.
For optimal performance of your automated trading strategies, we recommend using the desktop application in combination with our VPS service.
Install and manage an EA
An MT4 EA uses MQL4 and an MT5 EA uses MQL5; files are not interchangeable between the two platforms. In the desktop terminal, open the platform data folder, place the EA in the relevant MQL4 or MQL5 Experts folder, restart or refresh the Navigator, attach the EA to the intended chart and review every permission before enabling automated trading. To stop it, remove the EA from the chart or disable automated trading. Use third-party EAs only after reviewing their source, permissions, strategy and risk.
