PayPal Account and Standard Credit Card Deposits: Key Differences

Compare current PayPal Account and Standard Credit Card deposits, return routes and historical PayPal-funded records.

The current PayPal channel supports PayPal Account deposits only. PayPal Credit Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay are no longer new-deposit options within that channel. Standard Credit Card is a separate payment channel. Review only the eligible options currently displayed in the Client Portal.

PayPal Account

Use your own PayPal account and its associated email address. For a deposit recorded as PayPal Account funding, the corresponding return route is the PayPal account, subject to the current transaction record, displayed withdrawal options, provider rules and applicable terms. Do not treat this as a direct PayPal Credit Card deposit option or guarantee a return to a card.

Standard Credit Card

Standard Credit Card is a separate deposit channel technically supported by Worldpay. Its card-funded principal follows the original-card return route, subject to the current record and eligible withdrawal options.

If Apple Pay or Google Pay is currently displayed within the Standard Credit Card flow, that option belongs to that separate flow. The PayPal-channel change does not establish availability in another channel; verify the current Client Portal options.

Card types

The Standard Credit Card channel accepts VISA or MASTERCARD branded credit cards, subject to the options currently displayed. PayPal Account deposits use a PayPal account; do not present PayPal as another direct credit-card deposit option.

Compare the current methods

  • PayPal Account: check the PayPal account, associated email and recorded PayPal return route.

  • Standard Credit Card: check the current card-funded principal return route and eligible card options.

Earlier PayPal-funded card or wallet deposits

Earlier PayPal-supported Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal Credit Card deposits retain their recorded funding identity. Where the record treats them as PayPal-supported funding, the corresponding return route is the PayPal account rather than the original card. Removal of new-deposit options does not turn earlier records into Standard Credit Card funding. Use the current funding record, withdrawal options and applicable terms; request secure review if they conflict.

Consider these withdrawal differences when selecting a deposit method. The method available later, how a withdrawal is returned, and its timing depend on the current account and transaction record, displayed options, provider rules, and applicable terms.

Credit cards are used only to return deposited principal and cannot carry profit. If a combined amount matches only credit-card principal, the Portal shows a recommended amount and a one-click adjustment; the remaining profit follows the pure-profit rules.

If the displayed currency or payment method does not match the deposit record, the desired USDT network is not shown as eligible, the receiving wallet or exchange does not support the selected withdrawal network, or legacy data is incomplete, do not guess or submit repeated requests. Ask for a secure review of the funding history and current withdrawal options.

If the displayed options do not match the funding history, go to Client Portal → Service Hub → Create Ticket → Payments → Transaction Type → Withdrawal.

Include the withdrawal amount and on-screen unit, desired method or network, the related deposit reference, date, amount and currency, and the exact message shown. You may attach any relevant material that Service Hub currently permits and that you think will assist the review; there is no closed list or guarantee of approval.

Withdrawal processing time

Open Transaction History and check the request reference, status, displayed action and estimate. Do not submit a duplicate while the earlier record remains active. Approved or sent does not mean the receiving provider has credited the funds.
