Expert Advisors are automated trading programs that can execute trades based on predefined algorithms. However, they cannot be run on the MT4/MT5 WebTrader version.
Expert Advisors cannot be installed or run in FXTRADING.com App.
Where can I download the required app?
The button names quoted below refer to the English interface. Use the corresponding controls displayed in your selected interface language.
Sign in to Client Portal.
In the left navigation menu, select Service Hub.
Open Download Center.
Choose the compatible desktop version of MT4 or MT5.
Follow the installation instructions shown.
To use Expert Advisors with your FXTRADING.com account, you have two options:
Download the MT4/MT5 Desktop Application: A program can run in a supported desktop version only when its files, platform version, account, symbol and current settings are compatible. Available features and behavior depend on the specific program and environment.
Use our VPS Service: A VPS can keep the desktop terminal available while your personal computer is off, subject to VPS availability, the terminal session, network, trading server and program configuration. It does not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 operation or trade execution.
Choose desktop or VPS based on the program's requirements and your ability to monitor it. Test first, review permissions and risk settings, and monitor logs and orders. Neither setup guarantees performance, execution, profit or a limit on loss.
Install and manage a program
An MT4 program uses MQL4 and an MT5 program uses MQL5; files are not interchangeable between the two platforms.
In the desktop Trading Terminal, open the platform data folder.
Place the program in the relevant MQL4 or MQL5 Experts folder.
Restart the trading platform, or refresh the program list in Navigator.
Attach the program to the intended chart.
Review every permission before enabling automated trading.
To stop an attached program, remove it from its chart. Remove each running instance if it is attached to several charts. Disabling automated trading only prevents its automated trading operations; the program may continue analysing data. Neither action automatically closes existing positions or cancels pending orders. In MT4, deleting a program in Navigator alone does not stop an already attached instance. Use third-party programs only after reviewing their source, permissions, strategy and risk.
Automated trading must be allowed both in the terminal-wide settings and for that program. Check both; attaching a program to a chart does not by itself grant trading permission. DLL imports and website access are separate permissions. Enable them only when required by a program you trust.
Using a program on a VPS
