Expert Advisors (EAs) are automated trading programs that can execute trades based on predefined algorithms. However, they cannot be run on the MT4/MT5 WebTrader version.
Where can I download the required app?
Sign in to the Client Portal. In the left navigation menu, select Service Hub, then open Download Center. Choose the required MT4, MT5 or FXTRADING.com app version for your device and follow the installation instructions shown.
To use Expert Advisors with your FXTRADING.com account, you have two options:
Download the MT4/MT5 Desktop Application: An EA can run in a supported desktop version only when its files, platform version, account, symbol and current settings are compatible. Available features and behavior depend on the specific EA and environment.
Use our VPS Service: A VPS can keep the desktop terminal available while your personal computer is off, subject to VPS availability, the terminal session, network, trading server and EA configuration. It does not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 operation or trade execution.
Choose desktop or VPS based on the EA's requirements and your ability to monitor it. Test first, review permissions and risk settings, and monitor logs and orders. Neither setup guarantees performance, execution, profit or a limit on loss.
Install and manage an EA
An MT4 EA uses MQL4 and an MT5 EA uses MQL5; files are not interchangeable between the two platforms. In the desktop terminal, open the platform data folder, place the EA in the relevant MQL4 or MQL5 Experts folder, restart or refresh the Navigator, attach the EA to the intended chart and review every permission before enabling automated trading. To stop it, remove the EA from the chart or disable automated trading. Use third-party EAs only after reviewing their source, permissions, strategy and risk.
