Understanding Security Verification Methods

A security type is the verification method used to confirm your identity when performing important account actions.

Actions Requiring Security Verification

The following actions require account verification:

  • Changing your Client Portal password

  • Recovering your Client Portal password

  • Changing your security type

  • Changing affiliate settings

  • Withdrawing funds

  • Changing trading password

  • Setting or changing read-only access password

Choosing an appropriate security type is essential for your account's safety and helps prevent unauthorized access.

Available Security Types

Email

  • Verification codes are sent to your registered email address

  • This is the default security type for new accounts

SMS

  • Verification codes are sent to your registered mobile number via text message

  • Provides an additional layer of security beyond email

Authentication App

  • Requires an authentication app (like Google Authenticator) to generate verification codes

  • Offers enhanced security as codes are generated locally on your device

  • Works offline and doesn't require cellular service

Push Notifications

  • Requires the FXTRADING.com mobile app installed on your device

  • Verification is completed by responding to push notifications sent to your device

  • Provides a convenient and secure verification method

Changing Your Security Type

If you need to change your security type, detailed instructions are available in the respective security type sections of our help center.

Important Security Note: If you change your security type, withdrawal actions from any trading accounts will be temporarily disabled for 24 hours if changed via face scan verification, or 3 business days if changed through customer support.
