How do I set up an authentication app for two-factor verification?

An authentication app generates time-based one-time codes on your device. You can use it when Authentication app is offered in the FXTRADING.com Client Portal.

Before you start

  • Install a reputable authentication app from the official app store for your device.

  • Keep access to your current FXTRADING.com verification method until setup is complete.

  • Make sure your device date and time are set automatically.

  • Never share a QR code, setup key or authentication code.

Set up the authentication app

  1. Sign in to the FXTRADING.com Client Portal.

  2. Open Settings > Security settings.

  3. Select Change under 2-step Verification.

  4. Choose Authentication app if it is displayed.

  5. Open the authentication app on your device.

  6. Scan the QR code shown in the Client Portal, or enter the setup key manually.

  7. Enter the current code generated by the app.

  8. Complete the confirmation using your existing verification method.

  9. Confirm that Authentication app is shown as the active method.

The generated code changes regularly. Enter the current code before it expires.

The code is not accepted

  • Confirm that you selected the FXTRADING.com entry in the authentication app.

  • Wait for a new code and enter it once.

  • Set the device date and time to automatic, then try again.

  • Do not delete the authentication-app entry while setup or recovery is in progress.

If the QR code or setup key is no longer visible, restart the setup from the Client Portal instead of reusing an old image.

Change to another verification method

Open Settings > Security settings > 2-step Verification and use a different method only if it is offered. Complete the confirmation using the currently active method.

I lost access to the authentication app

Use another recovery method only if it appears in the official sign-in or security flow. Otherwise, contact FXTRADING.com through the Service Hub or official Live Chat and complete identity recovery. Never send a QR code, setup key, password or one-time code to support.
